The investigation into 21 individuals, including actor Cem Yiğit Üzümoğlu, regarding the "boycott" calls on social media has been completed. It was reported that Üzümoğlu used phrases in his messages such as "I'm finding out where the Teşkilat set is, should we go there?" and "Let's stop the set." A prison sentence of up to 7 years and 6 months has been requested for all suspects.

In the prepared indictment, it was requested that the suspects be sentenced to up to 7 years and 6 months in prison separately. It was reported that during the examination of suspect Üzümoğlu's mobile phone, messages such as 'I am finding out where the Organization set is, should we raid it?' and 'Let's stop the set' were shared.

The investigation into the 21 suspects, including actor Cem Yiğit Üzümoğlu, who made 'boycott' calls on social media for the cessation of all commercial activities across the country on April 2, has been completed. In the indictment prepared by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, 21 individuals were included as 'suspects.' The indictment stated that the investigation began after it was determined that boycott calls were made on social media regarding the investigations conducted against the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality and some district municipalities, and that posts were made to stop all commercial activities across the country. It was noted in the indictment that the boycott-themed posts made by the suspects led to incitement of hatred and hostility against one segment of the society by another segment, contrary to the common values of unity and solidarity that society is currently experiencing, and that the words used were divisive and directed towards hatred, posing a clear and imminent danger to public safety.

"I AM FINDING OUT WHERE THE ORGANIZATION SET IS, SHOULD WE RAID IT?"

In the indictment, which included the examination of suspect Cem Yiğit Üzümoğlu's mobile phone, it was stated that Üzümoğlu shared messages such as "I am finding out where the Organization set is, should we raid it?", "Let's stop the set", and "I learned their locations today to raid the set" in a messaging group called 'Actors Union' with many participants. It was also mentioned that the messages were shared immediately after the termination of the employment contract of an actor in the series 'Teşkilat' broadcasted on TRT, indicating that suspect Üzümoğlu exhibited actions that were divisive and incited violent hatred.

IT WAS STATED THAT THE SUSPECTS AIMED TO DISRUPT THE COUNTRY'S ECONOMY

In the prepared indictment, it was noted that the suspects acted with the intent to prevent ordinary economic activities by sharing posts aimed at stopping all consumption on April 2, conducting a boycott across the country, closing all businesses, and halting all commercial activities, and that the suspects aimed to disrupt the country's economy based on political and social reasons, acting with hatred.

REQUEST FOR UP TO 7 YEARS AND 6 MONTHS IN PRISON

In the prepared indictment, it was requested that the suspects Cem Yiğit Üzümoğlu, Aslı Yirsutimur, Bekir Aslan, Berna Güneri Kutlu, Burçin Erol, Buse Vatansever, Ceren Örnek, Damla Kırali, Deniz Bulutsuz, Mehmet Erdem Cevahirefendioğlu, Muhammet Enes Özel, Ömer Çiftçi, Seren Aydın, Sertaç Doğanay, Seyda Murat Germen, Şenay Ağgez, Tunahan Mert Topuz, Uğur Yangın, Yeliz Ağdemir, Zeynep Ocak, and Zeynep Sena Altan be sentenced to a total of 2 years and 6 months to 7 years and 6 months in prison for the crimes of 'preventing a person from engaging in an ordinary economic activity by discrimination among individuals' and 'publicly inciting hatred and hostility against the public through press and publication.' - ISTANBUL
