While discussions continue in Geneva regarding the peace plan prepared by the United States to end the Russia-Ukraine war, Russia has made its choice. Kremlin Foreign Policy Advisor Yuriy Ushakov stated that the "peace plan" conveyed by the U.S. regarding the resolution of the Ukraine crisis is in line with the understanding reached at the Alaska Summit, saying, "Therefore, many of the items in the plan are suitable for us. Of course, not all of them."
KREMLIN: U.S. PEACE PLAN MORE SUITABLE
Ushakov made statements to journalists in the capital Moscow regarding the U.S.'s 28-item "peace plan" prepared for the resolution of the Ukraine crisis.
Evaluating claims that changes have been made to the plan in question, Ushakov said, "We know the plan that was conveyed to us. This is also in line with the understanding reached at the Alaska Summit. Therefore, many of the items in the plan are suitable for us. Of course, not all of them. The other provisions of the plan need to be consulted and evaluated between the parties. However, this issue has not yet been addressed with us."
"I DON'T KNOW WHO TO BELIEVE"
Ushakov drew attention to U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio's statement that they were satisfied with the negotiations held with the Ukrainian side regarding the peace plan in Geneva, Switzerland, saying, "There are various speculations regarding the plan. I don't know who to believe. We believe in what we see and what has been conveyed to us through appropriate channels."
Ushakov also evaluated the possibility of negotiations between Russia and the U.S. regarding the plan, stating, "We think the Americans will contact us to meet face to face. There are some signals regarding this. However, there is still no agreement on bringing Russian and American representatives together. Because we have not received a clear proposal about who will come to Moscow and when."
Ushakov argued that the plan presented by Europe for the resolution of the Ukraine crisis is not constructive, stating, "This is not suitable for us."
U.S. PEACE PLAN FOR THE UKRAINE WAR
The 28-item peace plan proposal prepared by the Donald Trump administration was presented to Kiev. Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that they are ready to consult on the plan, saying, "I believe this plan could serve as a basis for a final peaceful solution." Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky also mentioned that they are working on a "peace plan" that could end the war, stating that his country would "never betray" its national interests.
