A staff member whose job location was changed at the Çukurova Municipality shot their supervisor with a gun.

In the "change of duty location" discussion at Çukurova Municipality, blood was shed. According to allegations, the municipal employee İbrahim İ., whose duty location was changed, went to the Çukurova Municipality Road Branch Chief's office in Yüzüncüyıl Neighborhood and argued with Chief Orhan A.

HE SHOT HIS CHIEF OVER THE "CHANGE OF DUTY LOCATION" ISSUE

During the argument, İbrahim İ. opened fire on Orhan A. with the gun he brought with him. The chief, who was injured in the leg, was taken to a private hospital by ambulance after the first intervention of the medical teams. After the attack, the police launched an operation to capture İbrahim İ.

While the injured chief was discharged after his treatment, an administrative investigation was initiated regarding the incident.

"WE WILL SORT OUT THE ROTTEN APPLES"

Following the events, the Çukurova Municipality made the following statement:

"In the incident that occurred this morning at our Çukurova Municipality Road Works construction site, which we can never accept, İbrahim İ., a member of the Road Works staff, shot and injured our Road Works Chief Orhan A. in the leg with his weapon due to a dispute over a change of duty location and fled the scene. After receiving treatment at a private hospital, our Road Works Chief Orhan A. gave his statement to the security forces and was discharged in good health. While the investigation initiated by the security forces to capture the assailant who fled the scene is ongoing, the necessary administrative investigation process has also been initiated within our municipality. However, false news, mostly based on incorrect information and including unrelated photographs, has been reflected in some media outlets regarding this unfortunate incident. Contrary to what is claimed in these false reports, the incident did not occur in the municipal service building, but at the Road Works construction site. The injured person is not the Road Works Director, but the Road Works Chief. The photographs of the ambulance and police taken in front of our municipal service building do not belong to today. When all these are evaluated together, it becomes evident that these false reports are malicious. We would like to emphasize that the people of Çukurova can rest assured. We are determined to put an end to these bad habits from the past, to sort out the rotten apples within us in a very short period of time, and to bring Çukurova Municipality to a corporate identity and culture worthy of its name."
