The United Nations General Assembly President's Council expressed its concern over the impact of the military conflicts that have erupted between the USA, Israel, and Iran on the region, calling for an urgent end to the conflicts and a return to diplomatic negotiations.

The UN expressed deep concern over the outbreak of military conflicts between the US, Israel, and Iran, and condemned the use of force by the parties and its impact on the countries in the region.

The United Nations General Assembly President's Council (UNCPGA) made a written statement through the office of the UN Secretary-General Spokesperson.

"WE CONDEMN"

The statement used the expression, "The UNCPGA expresses its deep concern over the outbreak of military conflicts between the US, Israel, and the Islamic Republic of Iran and condemns the use of force by all parties to the conflict and its serious impact on neighboring countries in the Middle East."

"HOSTILITIES MUST END"

The statement conveyed that these conflicts are a clear violation of the UN Charter and international law, posing a serious threat to international peace and security, stating, "The Council calls for the urgent de-escalation of the conflict, which has serious consequences for regional stability and the lives of millions of people in the Middle East, and for an immediate end to hostilities."

CALL FOR NEGOTIATION

The statement also encouraged all parties to return immediately to the negotiating table under the auspices of the UN and to resolve disputes peacefully through diplomatic means in accordance with the relevant provisions of the UN Charter.

Established in 1997, the UNCPGA consists of former presidents of the UN General Assembly. The Council aims to support the current President of the UN General Assembly, provide institutional memory to the General Assembly Presidency office, and promote multilateralism through the General Assembly.
