President Erdoğan stated regarding the cabinet reshuffle that took place last week, "We made a minor revision in our cabinet last week. I wish success to our brother Akın Gürlek, who has taken on the role of Minister of Justice, and to our brother Mustafa Çiftçi, who will carry out the duties of Minister of Interior. I thank our brothers Yılmaz Tunç and Ali Yerlikaya."
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan addressed the cameras after the cabinet meeting. Touching on the issues on the agenda, Erdoğan also mentioned the changes made in the cabinet last week.
"WE MADE A SMALL-SCALE REVISION"
Stating that "we made a small-scale revision in our cabinet last week," Erdoğan said, "Our friends in the Ministries of Interior and Justice have completed their handovers. I wish success to our brother Akın Gürlek, who has taken on the role of Minister of Justice, and to our brother Mustafa Çiftçi, who will carry out the duties of the Ministry of Interior."
Thanking former ministers Ali Yerlikaya and Yılmaz Tunç, Erdoğan expressed, "I thank Yılmaz Tunç and Ali Yerlikaya for their sacrifices during the 2.4 years they served our state, and I say may the Almighty be pleased with both of our ministers."
WHAT HAD HAPPENED?
Last week, with the decision published in the Official Gazette, Ali Yerlikaya was removed from the Ministry of Interior and Mustafa Çiftçi was appointed in his place. Yılmaz Tunç was also removed from the Ministry of Justice, and Akın Gürlek was appointed as his successor.
