A middle school teacher in Texas was hailed as a hero for saving a 15-year-old girl who was attacked outside her home. On the night of July 28, around 12:30 am, a young girl who got off a bus in Houston was followed to an apartment complex. Teacher David Garza immediately sprang into action upon hearing the girl's cries for help. Garza looked out the window and saw a man attacking the girl on the ground. He quickly grabbed his gun and went outside. Seeing that the attacker was pulling the girl's hair, Garza aimed his gun at him and forced him to back off. Security camera footage shows Garza standing shirtless on the porch, yelling at the assailant. Neighbors believe that if Garza hadn't intervened, the situation could have gotten worse. Garza stated that he had encountered a similar situation before and would act the same way again. Police are gathering information about the attacker, who was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, and white sneakers. The investigation is ongoing.
