As a result of a military aircraft belonging to the air force crashing into a school campus in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, 18 people lost their lives.
A tragic event occurred in the Uttara region, located north of Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh. An F-7 BGI type fighter jet belonging to the Bangladesh Air Force crashed onto the campus of Milestone College. It was reported that students were present on the campus at the time of the accident.
18 PEOPLE LOST THEIR LIVES
The Public Relations Office of the Bangladesh Army confirmed that the aircraft belonged to the military, and a large number of fire and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. Fire department official Lima Khan stated in her initial remarks that at least 18 people lost their lives in the accident.
CONDITION OF THE INJURED IS CRITICAL
After the accident, the injured were taken to nearby hospitals. Approximately 60 people were transferred to the National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute. Authorities stated that a large portion of the injured were children, and some of their conditions were critical.
CONDOLENCES FROM ADVISOR YUNUS
The Chief Advisor of the Bangladesh Interim Government, Muhammad Yunus, expressed his deep sorrow over the incident in a statement on his social media account and extended condolences to the families of the deceased. Yunus also announced that an investigation into the cause of the accident had been initiated.
