In the village of Sarayhan in Aksaray, a citizen named Yaşar Yerli was attacked by a wolf while tending to his sheep at midnight. In the attack, 25 out of 807 sheep were killed, and 318 went missing in the mountainous area. Gendarmerie teams conducted a search with drone support to locate the missing animals and returned them to their owner.
In the village of Sarayhan, connected to the center of Aksaray, a citizen named Yaşar Yerli (36) was attacked by wolves on his sheep herd in the middle of the night. In the attack, 25 out of 807 small livestock in the herd were killed, while 318 animals went missing in the mountainous area. After the incident, gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the region upon notification.
MISSING SHEEP FOUND WITH DRONE
The Provincial Gendarmerie Command's Gendarmerie Crime Investigation Team (JASAT) and security teams launched a large-scale search in the area. While drone-supported scanning was conducted during the searches, foot teams also searched the region thoroughly. As a result of the efforts, the missing animals were found by the gendarmerie teams and returned to their owner.
SECURITY MEASURES INCREASED
464 sheep that survived the wolf attack were controlled by the shepherd at the scene. While villagers were warned about the incident, security measures were increased against potential new attacks in the area.
