WOMAN PRESIDENT FOR THE CENTRAL BANK

The new administration led by Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) announced that a woman has been appointed as the head of the Central Bank. Maysaa Sabrine, who served as the deputy governor during the Assad era, has been appointed as the president of the Central Bank.

NO MONEY IN THE TREASURY

The Prime Minister of the transitional government in Syria, Muhammad al-Bashir, stated after taking office that the treasury has no money at all. Bashir said, "We only have worthless Syrian pounds in our treasury. We have no foreign currency. So we are in a very bad financial situation." HTS leader Ahmed al-Shara also called on the West to lift sanctions against the country.
