Access to the social media platform Instagram has been blocked by the Information Technologies and Communication Authority. In the statement made by the institution, it was stated that "Instagram was shut down due to not complying with the catalog crimes." Communication Director Fahrettin Altun had published a condolence message after the death of Hamas leader Haniye and stated that Instagram had blocked the relevant posts.

The Information Technologies and Communication Authority has imposed an access ban on the popular social media platform Instagram.

On July 31, Communication Director Fahrettin Altun published a condolence message on social media platform X account after Haniye's death and drew attention to Instagram's blocking of posts related to Haniye, stating, "Furthermore, I strongly condemn the social media platform Instagram for blocking people from publishing condolence messages without any justification due to Haniye's martyrdom. This is a clear and explicit censorship attempt."
