The inflation figures for November, which Turkey has been eagerly awaiting, were announced yesterday. In order for the salary increases for civil servants and retirees to be finalized, the inflation figures for December must also be announced by January 3, following the November inflation. INFLATION AT ITS LOWEST LEVEL IN 17 MONTHSAccording to TÜİK, inflation increased by 2.24% in November. On an annual basis, it decreased to 47.09%. Thus, inflation has fallen to its lowest level in the last 17 months. SALARY INCREASE CALCULATED BASED ON 5-MONTH INFLATIONThe monthly inflation was announced as 3.32% in July, 2.47% in August, 2.97% in September, 2.88% in October, and finally 2.24% in November. Thus, the salary increase for civil servants and retirees was calculated based on the 5-month inflation. The increase for SSK and BAĞ-KUR retirees based on the 5-month inflation is 14.57%. For civil servants, who will receive a 6% raise for the first 6 months of 2025 through a collective agreement, an inflation difference of 4.15% has occurred. Thus, the civil servant salary increase based on the 5-month inflation is 10.4%.
