HE LOST HIS FATHER DUE TO A BLOOD FEUD

Ferdi Tayfur was born on November 15, 1945, in Adana. His father lost his life due to a blood feud when he was only 5 years old. The aftermath was never easy for Tayfur, who became an orphan at such a young age. Due to his stepfather, while his peers were in school, he worked as an apprentice in a candy store.

HE LEARNED TO READ AND WRITE ON HIS OWN

According to a news report in Milliyet, the master artist learned to read and write by himself. At that time, he had a dream of becoming one of the movie stars. For him, singing would be a stepping stone to acting. With this dream, he participated in a voice competition at Adana radio and came in second.

HIS STEPFATHER OPPOSED

Despite all the objections from his stepfather, he took refuge in Istanbul and released his first record in 1968. Not receiving the expected interest, Ferdi Tayfur returned to Adana and started working on a farm. Meanwhile, from a brief relationship, he would learn of his existence 13 years later, and his son, who would save his life, was born. He could not put a stop to his love for music and achieved success in 1971 with the song "Huzurum Kalmadı."

HE BECAME FATHER FERDI OF ALL TURKEY

In 1974, he got married again. Although they separated shortly after, he never divorced the mother of his two children, Zeliha. His major breakthrough came in 1976 with the release of "Çeşme." He had now become the beloved Father Ferdi of all Turkey.

HIS GREAT LOVE ENDED IN 2007

Ferdi Tayfur and Necla Nazır sowed the seeds of a great love. Throughout his life, he acted in 34 films, showcasing both his acting and singing talents. The album "Prangalar," released in 1992, may have been the album of his life. His legendary 30-year love with Necla Nazır ended in 2007. From this great love, a daughter named Tuğçe was born to Ferdi Tayfur.

HIS KIDNEYS FAILED IN 2020

In 2010, he returned to Zeliha. Ferdi Tayfur had said, "I want to spend the rest of my life with her." He had been withdrawn from the stages he loved so much due to facial paralysis. In 2020, his kidneys failed.
