Heavy rainfall in the Hopa district of Artvin caused the retaining wall of a detached house to collapse. After inspections, a three-story building identified as at risk of collapse was evacuated, and it was announced that entry and exit to the area were prohibited.

Artvin was hit by heavy rainfall. Due to the heavy rain that was effective in the evening hours in the Kuledibi neighborhood of Hopa district, the retaining wall of a detached house collapsed.

WALL COLLAPSED, 3 BUILDINGS EVACUATED

As a result of the wall's collapse, significant damage occurred in the house. Upon notification, AFAD, Hopa Search and Rescue, and police teams were dispatched to the scene. After inspections, a 3-story building determined to be at risk of collapse was evacuated. Citizens living in the evacuated houses were taken to safe areas by the district governor's office.

A security cordon was drawn around the house, preventing citizens from approaching the area, while AFAD and Hopa Search and Rescue teams continue their work in the region.

Hopa Search and Rescue Volunteer Yavuz Yıldırım stated, "The heavy rainfall that has been effective in our district caused damage to a 3-story detached house. Security measures were taken at the scene, and those living in the 3-story house were evacuated. Police teams have prohibited entrances and exits to the area by taking security precautions."
