The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that Nebil Kaouk, the Commander of Hezbollah's Preventive Security Unit and a member of the Executive Council, was killed in a targeted attack.

In a statement from the IDF, it was said, "Nebil Kaouk, the Commander of Hezbollah's Preventive Security Unit and a member of the Executive Council, was killed as a result of a precise attack by the IDF. Kaouk was close to Hezbollah's senior commanders and was directly involved in terrorist attacks against the State of Israel and its citizens.

Having joined Hezbollah in the 1980s, he held positions as Deputy Commander of the Southern Region in the Operations Council, Commander of the Southern Region, and Deputy Commander of the Operations Council, and was seen as a significant source of expertise in his field.
