Following the announcement of the ceasefire, Israel conducted attacks in which 116 Palestinians lost their lives, including 30 children and 32 women, and 264 people were injured.

After Israel accepted the prisoner exchange agreement, which includes a ceasefire in Gaza, it continued its attacks on Palestine. Mahmud Basal, the spokesperson for the Civil Defense Directorate in Gaza, stated in a written statement that since the announcement of the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas, 116 Palestinians have been killed, including 30 children and 32 women.

Basal shared that 90 of the deceased were from the city of Gaza and reported that the number of those injured as a result of the attacks is 264.

CEASEFIRE AGREEMENT IN GAZA

The mediator country Qatar announced on January 15 that an agreement had been reached between Israel and Hamas regarding a ceasefire and prisoner exchange in Gaza.

The agreement will come into effect on Sunday, January 19. The ceasefire agreement, which consists of 3 phases, will see the release of 33 Israeli prisoners during the first 42 days. The agreement also includes comprehensive humanitarian aid reaching the Gaza Strip, as well as allowing displaced Palestinians to return to their regions.

The details of the second and third phases will be announced upon the completion of the first phase. While Israel blames Hamas and delays the approval of the agreement, Hamas announced that it is committed to the ceasefire.
