"WHEN HIS WIFE WOKE UP, SHE SAW THAT THE GIRL WAS DEAD"

Recep Yılmaz, the uncle of the father Servet Böcek (36), who is being treated in intensive care, stated in a press release to journalists, "When they had nausea at night, they said, 'We ate mussels.' They went to the hospital. They said, 'We have nausea, we ate mussels.' This is the hospital's report. Servet Böcek's speech is also clear; they come from there, they sleep at the hotel, but we don't know if they ate something else. When they slept at the hotel, his wife woke up to find that the girl was not moving. She looked and saw that she was dead.

They notify the hotel staff, ambulances come, and each of them is taken to a different hospital. The boy was alive; he also passed away in the hospital. Then they say the girl is conscious, we don't know, we learn from the phone from here. The mother and father are talking from Isparta. They ask about the girl, they ask about her brain, they say 'good.' Then they check again, and 2 hours later they say 'may your condolences be accepted,' and she also passes away. Right now, their father, my nephew Servet Böcek, is also struggling to survive. There is no chance of recovery. The state authorities need to intervene in this. It can't be like this. Of course, the culprits need to be punished," he said.

2 MORE TOURISTS HOSPITALIZED

Two tourists staying at the hotel where the Böcek family was accommodated were also hospitalized today due to complaints of nausea and vomiting. In the investigations, it was noted that Mustafa Taamart's friend Ayoub Hamraoui, who stayed in the same room, entered Turkey for tourism purposes on November 11, while Reda Fakhri entered on November 12. It was determined that the three individuals spent the entire day in the same places and ate the same meals, and at the hotel, they only consumed the water from the dispenser.

It was learned that Mustafa Taamart suddenly fell ill in the room around 02:00 and was taken to the hospital by ambulance, while Reda Fakhri was placed under observation upon arrival at the hospital at 05:00 due to complaints of nausea. It was reported that his roommate Ayoub Hamraoui did not show any signs of illness.

"THERE IS NO DISPENSER, ONLY BOTTLED WATER"

Following the hospitalization of two more individuals due to poisoning, the hotel owner made a statement. In the statement, Orhan Oğlak said, "We have no food in our kitchen. We will not give any more interviews or footage. We have no offerings or sales other than bottled water in our hotel," he said.

"ALL OUR HOTELS ARE BEING DISINFECTED"

In response to a question regarding the claim that the hotel was disinfected, Oğlak stated, "All our hotels are being disinfected. One of the people who came last night already had stomach issues. They told my son, they asked where we could eat. I can't direct them to the person in Ortaköy. There is no breakfast, no dispenser. There is only bottled water. We have informed the necessary places," he expressed.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Servet and Çiğdem Böcek, along with their children Kadir Muhammet (6) and Masal (3), who were staying at a hotel in Fatih, were hospitalized on November 12 due to complaints of nausea and vomiting, and the children lost their lives despite all interventions. The mother and father were also treated in the intensive care unit.

In the police investigation, it was determined that the family arrived in Istanbul from Germany on November 9 and stayed at the hotel in Fatih, and that they ate mussels from a street vendor in Ortaköy and at a restaurant on November 11.

Due to the continuation of complaints of vomiting and nausea on the same day, it was alleged that family members went to nearby hospitals on November 12, were discharged after treatment, and returned to the hotel.

After noticing that her daughter was lying still, the hotel staff called health teams, and all family members were taken to the hospital, and an investigation was initiated by the Provincial Health Directorate.

Çiğdem Böcek, who was being treated at Taksim Training and Research Hospital, also lost her life.
