APPLICATION TO TBF FOR GÖKSENİN KÖKSAL
The yellow-red club announced that an application would be made to the Turkish Basketball Federation (TBF) regarding former captain and player Göksenin Köksal, who used offensive language towards Galatasaray's bench and officials during the match against Bursaspor. Additionally, it was stated that the safety of the team was endangered as a result of the team buses being attacked with stones.
Here is the statement made by the yellow-red club:
"Due to the coverage of the incidents that occurred at the end and after the match played by our Men's Basketball Team against Bursaspor on December 6, it has become necessary to provide this information.
Towards the end of the match, the former Galatasaray captain, now a Bursaspor player, Göksenin Köksal, who used heavy insults towards our team's bench and our officials, and later stated, 'Galatasaray is my home,' will be subject to all necessary actions before the Turkish Basketball Federation. We would like to remind that Galatasaray legends have become legends not only when they wear this glorious jersey but also through their behavior when they take it off.
Furthermore, our team bus was stoned at the exit of the hall after the match, putting the safety of our athletes at risk. These attacks are not only against Galatasaray but also against the dignity of Turkish sports. There can be competition on the field; however, the acceptance of insults, hatred, and violence is never possible.
Our club will take all necessary actions to ensure that those responsible are held accountable."
