The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) of India took action following the findings in the preliminary investigation report of the plane crash on June 12.

The DGCA instructed that the fuel switches of all Boeing 787 and 737 aircraft in the country be inspected by July 21.
The preliminary report presented to the public regarding the accident revealed that the fuel flow to both engines of the crashed aircraft was cut off just seconds after takeoff. This situation was reported to have caused both engines to stop and the aircraft to lose its thrust.
