According to eyewitness accounts, the argument between the two female passengers sitting in the same row began over body odor and perfume use and got out of control. One of the cabin crew members who intervened was bitten on the arm by one of the female passengers.
In videos taken on the plane and quickly spread on social media, it can be seen that other passengers and the cabin crew tried to stop the fight, and male passengers in the back row also intervened.
In a statement from Shenzhen Airlines, it was said, "After the incident, both female passengers were removed from the plane by the police. The flight was delayed by two hours due to the incident. A comprehensive investigation has been launched regarding the matter."
A spokesperson for the Civil Aviation Administration of China stated that they have a zero-tolerance policy for in-flight violence and that passengers found guilty could be blacklisted and banned from future flights.
Experts point out that there has been an increase in in-flight fights and tensions in the post-pandemic period. In recent months, similar incidents have occurred on European and Asian routes, where disputes among passengers over seat positions, luggage placement, and noise have turned into fights.
