A fire broke out yesterday morning around 09:00 for an undetermined reason in a perfume filling facility located in Mimar Sinan Neighborhood. The flames quickly grew due to the chemical substances present in the facility, engulfing the entire building and spreading to the roof of an adjacent building. Upon notification, a large number of fire, medical, and police teams were dispatched to the scene. As a result of the intense intervention by the teams, the fire was brought under control, but 6 people lost their lives, and 7 others were injured, one of them seriously. The bodies of the deceased were taken to the morgue for autopsy procedures.
IDENTITIES OF THE DECEASED REVEALED
It was reported that Şengül Yılmaz, who died in the factory fire, was 55, Tuğba Taşdemir was 18, Nisa Taşdemir was 17, Cansu Esatoğlu was 16, and Esma Dikan and Hanım Gülek were 65 years old. Additionally, it was learned that Tuğba and Nisa Taşdemir were siblings.
THEY INSULTED AND CURSED THE DECEASED WORKERS
After the incident, it was revealed that abusive and insulting posts were made towards the workers who died in the fire on a Telegram page named "Kocaeli Execution Broadcast." It was learned that individuals using the names D.Y.A. and B.T. shared photos of the deceased and engaged in abusive conversations, responding in kind to the relatives of the victims who expressed their reactions. The individuals also used insulting expressions towards the state and martyrs in their posts, which drew significant backlash on social media. It was learned that complaints were filed against these individuals.
