Ahmet Ercan announced the location where he expects a 7.2 magnitude earthquake.

According to the data from the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), a 5.3 magnitude earthquake occurred in the Aegean Sea last night. The depth of the tremor, which occurred at 20:03, was recorded as 6.45 kilometers.

AHMET ERCAN DRAW ATTENTION TO THE REGION

Seismologist Prof. Dr. Övgün Ahmet Ercan made evaluations on his social media account after the earthquake. Ercan, pointing to the North Anatolian Fault, stated that an earthquake reaching a magnitude of 7.2 is expected in this segment.

Ercan included the following statements in his post: "The M5.3 earthquake, located in the southern branch of the Haldiiki peninsula in Northwest Aegean, has occurred above the North Anatolian Fault. The expected earthquake in this segment is M7-M7.2. However, we don't know when."
