AK Party's Elitaş makes a striking statement: It could be an advanced election, not an early one.

While the opposition, especially the CHP, frequently calls for early elections, the ruling party has closed the door on these requests. The AK Party stated that the general elections will be held on time, while a noteworthy statement was made.

NOTABLE STATEMENT FROM AK PARTY'S ELITAŞ

Mustafa Elitaş, the Deputy Chairman of the AK Party, who was a guest on tv1, said that the elections will be held on time. Elitaş mentioned that the most suitable time for elections due to weather conditions is in October-November, indicating that the general elections could take place during this period.

"IT MAY NOT BE AN EARLY ELECTION, BUT A BROUGHT FORWARD ELECTION"

Elitaş stated: "On May 14-28, the nation gave us the authority to govern Turkey for 5 years. We will use this authority to the fullest. It may not be an early election, but it could be a brought forward election."

I THINK THE MOST SUITABLE TIME IS NOVEMBER 2027

Currently, two institutions may request early elections. One is the parliament, which can decide to renew the election with 360 deputies. Or the President may say, 'I no longer wish to continue,' and cannot be a candidate. However, if it is a parliamentary decision, the President can run again. This provision exists in the Constitution. The most suitable dates for local and general elections are in October and November. In my opinion, holding the 2028 elections in November 2027 is the right time for me.
