DEVA Party's General Presidential Candidate, Lawyer Salih Efe, made striking statements regarding the trust crisis and leadership issues within his party. Efe stated that his trust in Ali Babacan has gradually eroded over time, leading to significant resignations within the party organization. "I EXPECTED SOMEONE TO PUT A STOP TO THE MISTAKES"Lawyer Salih Efe emphasized that the silence regarding the crises within the party pushed him into the presidential race. "I was expecting another presidential candidate to emerge. I expected someone to put a stop to the mistakes. However, everyone was watching. If a more experienced person had stepped up, perhaps I wouldn't have run, but no one took a step," Efe said, indicating that he would stand against these mistakes with his experience in international law. Efe also clearly expressed his opposition to the culture of loyalty, stating, "I only pledge allegiance to Allah. Wrong is wrong, and it needs to be stopped." "MANY FOUNDING MEMBERS, PROVINCIAL AND DISTRICT CHAIRS HAVE RESIGNED"Lawyer Salih Efe pointed out that pluralism and democratic values are not sufficiently applied within the party. Emphasizing that pluralism is a very important concept, Efe stated that different voices should be supported. "As DEVA Party, we advocate for democracy, equality, and justice. Although these are written in our program, there is no room for this within the party," he said. Efe argued that ideas should be freely expressed within the party, stating that different voices are not tolerated in DEVA Party. "This is a great mistake," Efe said, noting that in recent years, many founding members and provincial and district chairs have resigned from the party. "I RAN TO REVIVE THE PARTY"Efe expressed that the high potential at the foundation of DEVA Party has rapidly diminished. "Our party was established four years ago with 12%, and we received support in the range of 9-10% in polls. However, today we have dropped to 0.35%. In the vast Republic of Turkey, we are left with only one district and one municipality," Efe said, evaluating this situation as a leadership and management deficiency within DEVA Party. Salih Efe stated that he is a candidate for the presidency to change the understanding of leadership in DEVA Party and to revive the party. Efe expressed, "I am here to gain the trust of our people and to bring our party back to a strong position. I am a candidate to strengthen the party's pluralistic and democratic structure, to allow different voices, and to correct the mistakes."
