In the Gezi Park case, manager Ayşe Barım was released last night under judicial control after 248 days of detention. However, the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office appealed the release decision and brought the case to a higher court.

Manager Ayşe Barım, who is accused of being one of the planners of the Gezi Park events in Taksim, appeared before the judge for the second time on charges of "aiding and abetting an attempt to overthrow the Government of the Republic of Turkey." Barım, who is facing up to 30 years in prison, was granted release under judicial control and house arrest conditions by the court yesterday, during a hearing where famous personalities also testified.

However, today the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office appealed the release decision and brought the case to a higher court.
