It has been reported that the Competition Authority has conducted raids on digital content platforms, including Netflix, Disney, Blu TV, Exxen, and Gain, to examine their files. There are discussions about the possibility of launching investigations not only into talent agencies but also into digital platforms.

After the allegations of monopolization in the series industry, this time digital platforms have come to the fore. TV100 writer Fuat Uğur, who brought the monopolization scandal to light, shared a new development that will be widely discussed on his social media account.

ALLEGATION OF RAID ON DIGITAL PLATFORMS

In his post, Uğur claimed that the Competition Authority conducted a raid on digital content platforms, including Netflix, Disney, Blu TV, Exxen, and Gain. Uğur alleged that the authority has started examining the computers and files of the platforms and mentioned that an investigation could also be initiated regarding digital platforms, just like it was for talent agencies.

WHAT HAD HAPPENED?

Fuat Uğur had published an article on the allegations of monopolization in the series and film industry on September 26, 2024. The part of the article that did not attract much attention at the time stated, "Especially, there are a few names that hold and stand out in this sector. The strongest among them is that businesswoman who markets the untalented and incompetent girls disguised as actresses almost like MAMA. For instance, one of these girls is so powerful that she can have her almost zero-viewed series' third season made for digital platforms. It is also her who presented one of the girls as if she were in a relationship with a gay singer, while swindling 5 million dollars from the singer's businessman boyfriend (to save the image)." This part had become a topic of discussion on social media in the early days of 2025. An investigation had been launched against 21 companies, including ID İletişim, co-founded by Ayşe Barım, who was at the center of the allegations. Subsequently, the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office had initiated an ex officio investigation against Barım. This morning, Ayşe Barım was detained as part of the investigation opened against her due to allegations in the written and visual media regarding her participation in the Gezi Park Events.
