A young woman on social media made allegations of harassment against comedian Mesut Süre. After the woman's claims, stating that she was harassed at Süre's house while she was in university years ago, and similar statements from others, the production company announced that they have parted ways with Mesut Süre. In their statement, the company said, "We stand by all the victims. We are in shock. We are ashamed."
A young woman made allegations of harassment against comedian Mesut Süre in a post on her social media account. The woman, who claimed she was harassed at Süre's house while having dinner years ago when she was in university, stated in her post, "I used all my strength to resist. I immediately left the house and never spoke to him again. I can't forget that dinner." The production company of the Relationship Test program, İda Communication, announced that they have parted ways with Süre.
ALLEGATIONS ABOUT MESUT SÜRE The young woman claimed that Süre invited her to his home under the pretext of having dinner during a meeting at a tea garden for an internship program, where she alleged that she was harassed by the famous comedian. In her post, the young woman stated: "We were publishing a magazine while we were in university. We wanted to do an interview with 'less famous' comedians about alternative comedy for this magazine. Through this, we met Mesut Süre, who was doing radio programs at that time and performing in small clubs. After a while, Mesut Süre contacted me to discuss an internship program. We had this meeting at a tea garden in Beşiktaş.
"HE HELD MY ARM AND LAID ME ON THE COUCH" Later, he said he was hungry and suggested, 'Let's have dinner.' I accepted. He said, 'Let's not spend money outside; we have very nice food at home, let's eat there.' I accepted again. (These were times when Turkey wasn't as terrifying as it is now; I didn't see any harm in it. Just the need to make this statement hurts me.) We went to Mesut Süre's house in Beşiktaş, and we had our meal. When it was time to leave, he held my arm and laid me on the couch.
"I WILL BE ACCUSED OF EITHER SLANDER OR WAGGING MY TAIL" He got on top of me. He tried to kiss me. Meanwhile, I am 1.60 meters tall. As far as I know, Mesut Süre is over 2 meters tall. I could barely get out from under him. I used all my strength to resist. I immediately left the house and never spoke to him again. He is very well-liked. "WE ARE IN SHOCK, WE ARE EMBARRASSED" The allegations prompted the production company of the Relationship Test program, which Mesut Süre hosted, to take action. In a statement from the production company, it was said, "We declare that we will no longer work with Mesut Süre. We stand by all victims. We are in shock. We are embarrassed. We will dedicate our page to raising your voice. We promise to announce your experiences through the Relationship Test."
ALLEGATIONS KEEP COMING After comedian Mesut Süre was fired from the program he worked on, similar revelations continued to emerge. Many people shared their experiences with Süre, and the allegations were notably serious.
"HE HARASSED MY GIRLFRIEND IN THE METROBÜS LINE" A young man stated in his post that Süre followed his girlfriend and made harassing moves on the metrobüs. "Hello, as a man, I also want to say a few things about Mesut Süre. I have seen him several times with other women in Kadıköy and Beşiktaş. He was waiting in front of his house in Moda and was harassing the ladies passing by. The first time he did this was on 22.08.2022 while I was walking with my girlfriend in Kadıköy. I know this because there was a graduation ceremony at my university on August 23. I even checked the day I was with my girlfriend. We noticed he was following us while we were walking from the pier to the Söğütlüçeşme Metrobüs Station. When we arrived at the metrobüs station, he tried to harass my girlfriend in line. He touched my girlfriend while saying, 'It's very crowded, don't push from behind,' etc., and this happened even on the metrobüs. Later, he also tried to talk to my girlfriend on the metrobüs, smiled, and when I said something, he claimed he was drunk. He got off a couple of stops later and waited for the next metrobüs. He was going to Beşiktaş; he had a show at BKM that day," he stated.
