Two municipal police officers in the Kale district of Denizli, who claim they have been working for months in heavy jobs such as rubble, construction, garbage, and plowing despite it not being part of their job descriptions, have fallen victim to the wrath of the mayor. 2 POLICE OFFICERS DID NOT FOLLOW THE MAYOR'S INSTRUCTIONS
H.S.K. (34), who has been working in the technician position at Kale Municipality since 2014 but is employed as a police officer, and C.E.Ç. (42), who has been working as a data preparation officer since 2019 but is also employed as a police officer, did not lay stones due to complaints of "herniated disc and meniscus surgery" and "nose surgery and muscle tear," and waited until the end of their shift in an area visible to security cameras.
THEY DID NOT LAY PAVING STONES ON THE 2ND DAY EITHER
On Thursday morning, H.S.K. and C.E.Ç., who were assigned to regulate traffic in an area where asphalt work was being done, were called on the phone while they were at home during lunch and asked to go to the school again to lay paving stones. The two police officers, who met in the marketplace, went to the school together and began to wait as they had done the previous day.
THE MAYOR ATTACKED THE POLICE OFFICERS WITH A STICK
About 15 minutes later, Kale Mayor Erkan Hayla entered the schoolyard with a stick and angrily ran towards C.E.Ç., hitting him on the back. After hitting the same police officer a second time, the stick in Mayor Erkan Hayla's hand broke. H.S.K., who intervened to prevent the Mayor from hitting his friend, was injured on his finger. The police officers, who were removed from the schoolyard by Mayor Erkan Hayla, went to Kale State Hospital to obtain a medical report. The two police officers filed a complaint against Mayor Erkan Hayla at the District Police Department.

H.S.K., who claimed to have been subjected to mobbing by Mayor Erkan Hayla for 8 months, stated in his testimony, "We did not lay paving stones because of our ailments and because it was not in our job description. On the second day, while waiting in front of the camera again, Mayor E.H. came towards us with a stick and insults. He hit C.E.Ç. hard on the back twice. If the stick had not broken and my friend had not bent down, worse results could have occurred. While trying to calm the Mayor down, I was also injured on my finger. We never retaliated or insulted him. For 8 months, he made me work in rubble, stones, construction, and garbage. Everyone knows that I had surgery on my foot because of the heavy work. I am worried about our safety," he was reported to have said.
THE MARK OF THE STICK STILL REMAINS
C.E.Ç., who claimed that he was made to work in heavy jobs despite it not being in his job description, but did not lay stones recently due to needing a nose surgery, stated, "On the second day, when we went to the school again, we started to wait without doing any work. During this time, Erkan Hayla came towards us, cursing, and tried to hit me with the stick in his hand. Despite our pleas of 'Don't do it, Mr. Mayor,' he continued to hit. We could not calm him down, and when the stick finally broke, he said, 'If you are not going to work, get lost,' and drove us away from the school. Despite being a civil servant, I was made to work in some heavy jobs like hoeing and traffic regulation. I think his aim is to intimidate us and force us to resign. I am worried about my safety and that of my family. The marks of the stick are still on my back, and I am filing a complaint against him," he expressed.
