Sinem Ünsal, who plays the character Alya in the series Uzak Şehir, released a statement after a detention order was issued against her in a drug investigation involving celebrities.
As part of the drug investigation targeting celebrities, a detention order was issued for 14 people, including Sinem Ünsal, Emir Can İğrek, Burak Deniz, Norm Ender, and Somer Sivrioğlu.
STATEMENT FROM THE PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE
In a statement regarding the operation from the Istanbul Anadolu Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, the following was noted:
"Within the scope of the investigation file 2026/73811 of our Istanbul Anadolu Chief Public Prosecutor's Office Terror and Organized Crimes Investigation Bureau; coordinated with the Istanbul Provincial Gendarmerie Narcotic Crimes Combat Branch Directorate, an operation was conducted against 14 suspects who are believed to have participated in the crimes of Purchasing, Accepting, or Possessing Drugs or Stimulants for Use, or Using Drugs or Stimulants, and Supplying Drugs or Stimulants, targeting 'publicly known individuals.' Simultaneous search and seizure operations were carried out on 09.04.2026 for their capture."
During the search and seizure activities, 11 suspects were detained, it was determined that 2 suspects were wanted and on the run, and 1 suspect was found to be abroad. Our Istanbul Anadolu Chief Public Prosecutor's Office continues investigations into crimes committed against public health, as it does for all types of crimes, with determination and diligence."
"I WILL BE IN ISTANBUL AS SOON AS POSSIBLE"
Sinem Ünsal, who has a detention order against her as part of the drug investigation targeting celebrities, made the following statement: "I am in Mardin due to my shoots and I just learned about the news. I am extremely saddened to have my name associated with such a matter, but I know that there is only one truth and I respect the process that the authorities will carry out. I will be in Istanbul as soon as possible to do whatever is necessary."

Sinem Ünsal is a Turkish actress born on June 21, 1993, in Izmir. She graduated from the Department of Comparative Literature at Eskişehir Osmangazi University. She made her breakthrough in acting with the character Nazlı in the series Mucize Doktor.
She later participated in projects such as Gizli Saklı and Uzak Şehir. Ünsal, who came back into the spotlight especially with her performance in the series Uzak Şehir, is considered one of the prominent female actors of recent times.
