The North Korean government announced the successful test of the "Hwasongpho-11 Ka" tactical ballistic missile equipped with precision-guided munitions, stating, "This weapon system can turn an area of 6.5 to 7 hectares, equivalent to 10 football fields, into ashes with its highest intensity power."

An official statement has been released by the North Korean government regarding the latest missile test. It was stated that "significant" weapon systems were tested between Monday and Wednesday, and that the 'Hwasongpho-11 Ka' ground-to-ground tactical ballistic missile equipped with area-effect munitions was successfully tested. This weapon system can turn any target covering an area of 6.5 to 7 hectares into ashes with its maximum intensity."

It was also reported that a mobile short-range surface-to-air missile system and an electromagnetic weapon system were tested. It was emphasized that the recent weapon tests are part of routine defense activities and are of great importance for the development of the North Korean army. It was noted that the tests were led by General Kim Jong Sik, a member of the Central Military Commission of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK), while no detailed information was provided on whether North Korean leader Kim Jong-un was present at the test site.
