In the case of Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mustafa Bozbey, who has been suspended from duty, a new arrest warrant has been issued for 5 suspects upon the prosecutor's appeal. In the operation conducted under the charges of "bribery, establishing a criminal organization, and money laundering," the total number of detainees has risen to 35, while 4 individuals, including the brother of the suspended mayor Mustafa Bozbey, have been taken into custody again. 2 fugitive suspects are still being sought.
A new development has occurred in the "bribery" and "irregularity" investigation conducted by the Bursa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. A new arrest warrant was issued for 5 suspects who were previously released under judicial control upon the prosecutor's objection. Among them, 4 individuals, including the brother of the suspended mayor Mustafa Bozbey, were taken into custody again.
ARREST WARRANT FOR 5 SUSPECTS
A new development has occurred in the investigation conducted for the crimes of "establishing and managing an organization for the purpose of committing a crime, bribery, laundering assets derived from crime, and causing urban pollution" in Bursa. An arrest warrant was issued for 5 suspects in the case where Bursa Metropolitan Mayor Mustafa Bozbey, who was suspended by the Ministry of Interior, is also detained.
PROSECUTOR'S OBJECTION YIELDED RESULTS
The Bursa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office objected to the release of 5 out of 33 suspects who were previously released under judicial control. As a result, among the suspects brought before the judge again, Naci K., a former employee of the Nilüfer Municipality's subsidiary company NİLBEL, businesspeople Yusuf B. and Ferhat B., and architecture office owner İldam Aydın B. were arrested.
NUMBER OF DETAINEES RISES TO 35
Additionally, it was decided to arrest former Nilüfer Municipal Council Member Şemsi O., who was previously detained for other crimes, within the scope of this investigation. Thus, the total number of detainees in the case increased to 35.
OPERATION TARGETING 57 SUSPECTS WAS CONDUCTED
Within the scope of the investigation, it was determined that the municipal managers and some employees of the period in the Nilüfer district made irregular increases in zoning coefficients in construction projects in exchange for bribes and gained unfair profits. In this context, on March 31, 57 suspects, including Mustafa Bozbey, family members, and many municipal employees and businesspeople, were taken into custody.
FIRST ARRESTS CAME ON APRIL 4
Of the suspects sent to the courthouse, one was released after the prosecutor's interrogation, while 23 suspects, including Bozbey, were arrested on April 4 out of 56 individuals brought before the peace criminal court.
FORMER MAYOR ERDEM IS ALSO IN THE CASE
An arrest warrant was also issued for 7 individuals, including former Nilüfer Mayor Turgay Erdem, who was previously detained on different charges, within the scope of this case.
WIFE AND DAUGHTER RELEASED
The court released 33 suspects, including Bozbey's wife, daughter, and brother, under judicial control. Meanwhile, it was learned that efforts to capture 2 suspects located abroad are ongoing.
