Interest of Institutional Investors and Limited Supply Will Drive Bitcoin to New Heights
ARK Invest's experienced CEO Cathie Wood has made an exciting new prediction for the cryptocurrency world. According to Wood's statements, the value of Bitcoin is expected to reach $1.5 million by 2030. This prediction is based on the increasing interest of institutional investors and the rising demand for Bitcoin.
The company's report titled "Big Ideas 2025" presents projections that consider three different scenarios. In the most optimistic scenario, a growth rate of 58% per year is forecasted for Bitcoin to reach $1.5 million, while the base scenario sets the 2030 target at $710,000. In a more cautious approach, the pessimistic scenario aims for a level of $300,000 with a 21% annual growth rate.
Under current market conditions, Bitcoin has been trading below $100,000 since February 4, due to trade tensions between the U.S. and China. However, Wood believes that this temporary decline will not affect the long-term upward potential.
Analyst Iliya Kalchev from Nexo takes a more cautious approach regarding the short-term outlook. According to Kalchev, for Bitcoin to gain upward momentum, it must first show a sustained movement above the $100,000 level. If this is achieved, the next target is set at $106,500.
Market participants evaluate that the decrease in the amount of Bitcoin remaining on cryptocurrency exchanges to 2.5 million BTC could create a supply constraint that may positively impact prices. The beginning of institutional investors allocating Bitcoin in their portfolios and the entry of ETFs into the market are also among the factors supporting Wood's optimistic predictions.
