As the war in our region enters its 19th day, Iran announced that it will strike U.S.-linked oil facilities in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Qatar following the targeting of its oil refineries by the U.S. and Israel.
The oil refineries in Iran's Bushehr province were targeted by coordinated attacks from the US and Israel. While no information about casualties or injuries was shared after the attack, the Tehran administration made statements that would escalate tensions in the region.
THREAT TO GULF COUNTRIES
Following the targeting of oil refineries by the US-Israel, Iran announced that it would strike US-linked oil facilities in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Qatar.
FUNERAL HELD IN TEHRAN
Meanwhile, a funeral was held in the capital Tehran for Ali Larijani, the Secretary General of the Iranian National Security Council, who lost his life in the Israeli attack, as well as for Gholam Reza Soleimani, the commander of the Basij forces, and 84 soldiers who died in the US attack. Thousands attended the ceremony held in Revolution Square, where photos of former leader Ali Khamenei, Larijani, and Soleimani were displayed. Anti-US and anti-Israel slogans were chanted throughout the ceremony. The Israeli army had previously announced that it targeted Larijani and Soleimani in attacks on Tehran, and Iran confirmed the deaths of these two individuals.
MESSAGE OF "NEW WEAPONS" FROM IRAN
Iranian Army Spokesman Brigadier General Mohammad Ekraminia stated in a statement on state television that the order based on the US presence in the region has collapsed. Ekraminia said, "We will continue to respond to the attacks and take revenge for our martyrs. We will use more modern weapons in the coming days."
HARSH STATEMENT FROM TRUMP
US President Donald Trump targeted Iran in a post on his Truth Social account. Trump described Iran as "the number one supporter of terrorism," stating, "We are swiftly sidelining Iran."
