The South Pars natural gas field located in southern Iran has been targeted in attacks organized by the US and Israel. The attacks hit the 3rd and 6th phases of the world's largest natural gas field, as well as some sections of the Asaluyeh oil refinery. Following the attack, the interruption of gas flow from Iran to Iraq drew attention.

DRONE ATTACK ON NATURAL GAS FIELD IN IRAN
According to a report by the semi-official Mehr News Agency based on information from the Ministry of Oil, the South Pars natural gas field, the largest natural gas field in the world, was hit by US-Israeli drones.
TWO PHASES TARGETED
It was stated that the 3rd and 6th phases of the natural gas field were targeted in the attacks. Iskender Pasalar, the governor of Asaluyeh, who made a statement to the press regarding the attack, reported that some areas of the South Pars natural gas field were hit by the US-Israel. Following the attack, the interruption of gas flow from Iran to Iraq drew attention.
OF GREAT IMPORTANCE FOR IRAN AND QATAR
Pasalar stated that activities in the targeted areas were halted to control and prevent the spread of the fire, saying, "The situation is under control, and firefighters from South Pars and the Pars Special Economic Zone are managing the fire. A crisis management center has been established, and necessary measures are being taken to provide assistance." The Iranian official reported that there have been no casualties so far.
The South Pars Natural Gas Field, located in the Persian Gulf and considered one of the largest natural gas fields in the world, is of critical importance for the energy economies of both Iran and Qatar.
