When police teams later entered an apartment in Vaduz, they discovered the lifeless bodies of a 73-year-old man, a 68-year-old woman, and a 45-year-old woman.
Authorities stated that the 41-year-old found on the bank of the Rhine was the son of the 73-year-old man and the 68-year-old woman, while the 45-year-old woman was the sister of the man.
DISMISSED MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEE IDENTIFIED
The police reported that the person found in the river was a senior employee of the Triesen Municipality and had been suspended from his position a few days prior due to irregularities detected in the accounts.
After such rare incidents in the country, authorities announced that autopsy work is ongoing to determine the exact cause of death for the four individuals. The investigation is continuing in multiple directions.
While the crime rate in Liechtenstein is considered very low, current data shows that the intentional homicide rate in the country was recorded at 2.64 in 2024 statistics.
