New images of the crash moments of the F-16 aircraft that fell during a training flight in Yalova have been reflected to the public. The aircraft, which took off from Eskişehir, fell in the Çiftlikköy area, and the pilot was saved by the ejection system. While the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation, it was reported that the pilot's treatment at the hospital continues and there is no life-threatening condition.
An F-16 aircraft that took off from Eskisehir for a training flight yesterday crashed at approximately 15:00 into the outer compound of the 18th Main Air Base Command in Yalova. The pilot ejected from the aircraft using the ejection seat system.
REPORT PENDING While an investigation into the accident has been initiated, the Yalova Chief Public Prosecutor's Office also issued a statement on the matter. The statement said, "At approximately 15:00, upon an F-16 fighter aircraft belonging to the 1st Main Jet Base Command of Eskisehir crashing and undergoing an accident-breakage near the 18th Main Jet Base Command of Yalova, in the area of Mimar Sinan Street, Mantar Street, Taskopru, Ciftlikkoy/Yalova, our Chief Public Prosecutor's Office immediately commenced investigation procedures, and 2 deputy chief public prosecutors were assigned under the coordination of 1 Chief Public Prosecutor's Deputy. It has been understood that the pilot, Staff Colonel (E.T.), who separated from the aircraft via the ejection system during the accident-breakage, was transferred to Yalova Training and Research Hospital and is not in life-threatening condition. Necessary instructions have been given for the conduct of on-site investigation procedures and for the expert accident-breakage team to prepare a report on the incident."
NEW FOOTAGE EMERGES While the treatment of the pilot, Staff Colonel E.T., who was taken to the hospital, continues, new footage of the moment of the accident-breakage has emerged. In the footage recorded from inside a vehicle, the aircraft is seen flying over the area, and debris it dropped causing fires.
