Trabzonspor's Cameroonian goalkeeper Andre Onana stated that he has quickly adapted to the Bordo-mavili team and mentioned that the match against Fenerbahçe brought them even closer together.
Trabzonspor's new transfer, Cameroonian goalkeeper Andre Onana, answered questions from the press before training at the Mehmet Ali Yılmaz Facilities.
'I DON'T LIKE TO TALK ABOUT REFEREES'
Stating that they played a very important match against Fenerbahçe, Onana said, "It was a very important match, we were on the field to win, but for some reasons, we couldn't succeed. Since the first day I arrived, I have felt good here. I wanted to help the team because I feel like I've been here for many years. However, the victory did not come. I don't like to talk about referee decisions. We are trying to focus on ourselves. Sometimes there are things beyond your control, and referee decisions are among them. What I like is not important; what the team wants is what matters. I see myself as a modern player. I try to adapt to whatever the team needs," he said.
FENERBAHÇE MATCH CONFESSION
Thanking his teammates, Onana said, "Thanks to them, it was easy for me to adapt here. I feel like I've been with them for many years. We are a competitive team that loves to fight. We played most of the Fenerbahçe match with 10 men. In such situations, you need to fight, and we did that. Maybe we lost, but this match became one that brought us closer together," he stated.
Commenting on young goalkeepers, Onana said, "There are talented goalkeepers with a future. I have always said in every team I played; to be successful, you need to fight. Luck will come to you, what matters is to catch that train at the right time," he expressed.
'I WANT TO BE SUCCESSFUL'
Touching on his former team Manchester United, the experienced goalkeeper said, "We are not doing an individual sport. You experience winning and losing together. In victories, you may not see some details, but in losses, those details come to the forefront. I love Manchester fans; I have had good relationships with them. I wish them success. We will fight here; sometimes we will lose, sometimes we will win. I want to have a good season and be successful," he said.
Speaking about Head Coach Fatih Tekke, Onana stated, "He is someone who has a very good understanding of tactics and clear ideas about football. We have been working together for a short time, but he is a coach who thinks about football," he expressed.
'WE WILL FIGHT TO WIN'
Onana, who mentioned that his long-time friend Rigobert Song had told him positive things about Trabzonspor, said, "I don't know the city very well, but I watched the championship celebrations from 3-4 years ago. When we are on the field, we will fight to win. I will fight until the last drop of my blood. We will fight this battle together with our fans," he concluded.
