The investigation into 18 suspects captured in the second wave operation targeting the "Newborn Gang," which includes 5 doctors, 5 healthcare workers, 3 nurses, and 1 civilian, has been completed. IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THEY MOVED TOGETHER WITH FIRAT SARIAs part of the investigation conducted by the Büyükçekmece Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, known to the public as the "Newborn Gang," the teams of the Istanbul Police Department's Financial Crimes Unit, which continue their work, detained 5 doctors, 5 healthcare workers, 3 nurses, and 1 civilian, whom they identified as moving together with gang leader Fırat Sarı during the operation they carried out on December 4. A report was prepared for the 18 suspects identified in the ongoing investigation. PENALTIES SOUGHT HAVE BEEN ANNOUNCEDIn the prepared report, a prison sentence of 20 to 25 years was requested for Doctor Dursun Eryılmaz for the crime of "intentional killing through negligent behavior." On the other hand, for Mustafa Kemal Zengin, who threatened public prosecutor Yavuz Engin in his office, a prison sentence of 2 to 4 years was requested for the crime of "aiding an organization established for the purpose of committing a crime." It was also noted that the investigation regarding the threat to the prosecutor in his office is ongoing. For nurse Serenay Şenkalaycı, a prison sentence of 2 to 5 years was requested for the crime of "forgery in official documents," and for the crime of "intentional killing through negligent behavior in a chain," a sentence of 25 years to 43 years and 7 months was sought. For the other 15 suspects, varying prison sentences were requested for various crimes.
