6 DETENTIONS INCLUDING MUHİTTİN BÖCEK'S COUSIN

In the operation, Muhittin Böcek's cousin Emin B., former President of the Antalya Chamber of Independent Accountants and Financial Advisors Emrullah Tayfun Ç., his son Serkan Ç., municipal private secretary employee Melek K., architect Özlem Yıldız K., and city planner financial advisor Mehmet Ali C. were detained.

ANTALYA METROPOLITAN MUNICIPALITY OPERATION

The investigation conducted by the Antalya Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, in which Muhittin Böcek is also detained, continues.

Muhittin Böcek and his former daughter-in-law Zeynep K. were detained on July 5, and it was determined that Böcek's son, suspect Mustafa Gökhan Böcek, was abroad. On the same day, Muhittin Böcek, who was referred to the courthouse, was arrested, while his former daughter-in-law Zeynep K. was released under a travel ban and judicial control conditions. Following the decision, Muhittin Böcek was suspended from duty by the Ministry of Interior. His daughter-in-law Zuhal Böcek, who returned from abroad, was also caught and arrested at the airport on July 27 on the charge of "laundering the value of assets derived from crime."

8 PEOPLE HAD BEEN ARRESTED

As part of the investigation, 2 of the 17 people detained in a simultaneous operation carried out on addresses identified on August 12 were released after their procedures at the police, while 8 of the 15 suspects referred to the courthouse were arrested, 5 were released under judicial control, and 2 were released after their statements to the prosecutor's office.

ALLEGATION OF "195 MILLION LIRA BRIBERY"

It was alleged that A.A, B.Ç, M.Y., and Y.Y., who received contracts from the Metropolitan Municipality, gave a bribe of 195 million lira to Muhittin Böcek and his son Mustafa Gökhan Böcek to receive their payment entitlements. A currency exchange office, where it was claimed that the bribe money was deposited, and two jewelers, where this money was allegedly converted into gold, were appointed a trustee.

MUHİTTİN BÖCEK'S SON WAS ALSO ARRESTED

Mustafa Gökhan Böcek, the son of Muhittin Böcek, was detained and arrested when he arrived at Antalya Airport from Vienna on August 19. In the continuation of the investigation, İlker Arslan, who was suspended from his position at the Antalya Police Department and surrendered after a detention order was issued against him, and businessman F.A. were also arrested on September 7.

FORMER DAUGHTER-IN-LAW WAS RELEASED

In the operation carried out by police teams on September 10, among the 21 suspects detained, businessman Mehmet Emin Hesapçıoğlu, owner of Kanal V television Mehmet Okan Kaya, former Deputy Secretary General of Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Tuncay Sarıhan, director of Antalya Metropolitan Municipality company ANT Tepe İsmail Erdoğmuş, and sales staff Levent Şapçıoğlu were arrested, while 3 people, including Böcek's former daughter-in-law Zeynep K., were released under judicial control. Suspects benefiting from the remorse provisions, Hesapçıoğlu, Sarıhan, and Erdoğmuş were released on September 27.
