The Danish representative, national football player Aral Şimşir, who plays for Midtjylland, stated that he received an offer from Trabzonspor during the winter transfer period and that this offer motivated him. Aral also added that he wants to continue his football career in Europe.
Danish player Aral Şimşir, who plays for FC Midtjylland, made statements to İHA reporter on various topics, from his performance this season to his career goals, the transfer offer he received from Trabzonspor, and the national team. Aral, who started his football career at the age of 9 and played in different teams in lower age categories until the age of 15, stated that despite being wanted by clubs like Copenhagen and Brondby, he preferred Midtjylland.
'THE REASON I PLAY AT THIS LEVEL THIS SEASON IS NOT GETTING INJURED'
This season, the 23-year-old player, who has scored 11 goals and provided 18 assists in 41 matches across all competitions with Midtjylland, and was also selected as the 'Player of the Month' in February with 8 goals and 13 assists in 21 matches in the Danish Superliga, is experiencing the most prolific period of his career. When asked about what he did differently this season compared to previous ones to achieve these statistics, Aral replied, "The only reason is that I haven't been injured. I had a lot of injuries in the same place last season. The same happened the season before that. The reason I play at this level this season is not getting injured. Of course, I am more professional in some things, I take some things more seriously, but not getting injured is a big factor."
'I WOULD LIKE TO PLAY IN SPAIN'
Aral expressed that he has dreamed of playing for Europe's big teams since he was a child. He also mentioned that he finds Spain closer to his football style, saying, "I would love to play in the Spanish league. But my father always says, 'Play where you are happy.' That has become a bit of an obsession for me. I want to go to a place where I am happy. When I am happy, I perform better."
'I RECEIVED AN OFFER FROM TRABZONSPOR'
When asked if he received an offer from Trabzonspor during the winter transfer period, Aral replied: "An offer came. One of my biggest dreams is to go to a better league, to a bigger club. I was looking at it positively at that time. Trabzonspor is a very big club in Turkey. I saw it more as motivation. The fact that such a big club wants me motivated me even more. I was sure that Midtjylland would not sell me because we are in a very good period. We are doing very well in both the Europa League, the cup, and the league. I knew they were not looking to sell. I saw Trabzonspor's interest in me as motivation. Of course, I don't know how it will be in the summer."
'I WOULD HAVE PREFERRED FENERBAHÇE'
Şimşir stated that he did not watch the match Nottingham Forest played against Fenerbahçe in the previous round of the UEFA Europa League Round of 16. Aral said, "I would have preferred Fenerbahçe. We played against Fenerbahçe last season as well. Unfortunately, we played at home. I would have liked to try playing away. I would like to play in front of a large crowd, in front of 50,000 people."
