The investigation into Bolu Mayor Tanju Özcan, who was arrested and suspended from duty following an operation on February 28 on charges of "extortion," is deepening. After the indictment prepared by the Bolu Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, shocking allegations of "forbidden love" and "sexual assault" that will create a shockwave in the public have been added to the file. Following these developments, a second arrest warrant was issued against Özcan, who is still in prison, and his official driver was also sent to prison.
ALLEGATIONS OF FORBIDDEN LOVE AND SEXUAL ASSAULT BY THREAT
In the investigation coordinated by the Bolu Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, the statements given by municipal employee Öznur Çağalı to the prosecutor's office were chilling. Çağalı claimed that Tanju Özcan repeatedly called her to hotels at various times to meet and sexually assaulted her multiple times under threat. Following these striking confessions, the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office issued a second arrest warrant for Özcan.
OFFICIAL DRIVER ALSO ARRESTED
According to information reported by Caner Güngör from Bolu Gazetesi, another shocking arrest occurred within the scope of the investigation. Tanju Özcan's official driver, Suat Çelikcan, was taken into custody on allegations of mediating the hotel meetings between Öznur Çağalı and Özcan. The driver Çelikcan, who was referred to the courthouse, was arrested by the court and sent to prison. It was learned that the driver Suat Çelikcan, who denied the allegations, stated in his defense, "I dropped Öznur Çağalı off at a hotel at certain times, but I have no knowledge or involvement in the alleged incidents."
SAYING "THEY RUINED MY LIFE"...
The victim, municipal employee Öznur Çağalı, virtually exposed a chain of crimes in her statement to the prosecutor's office. Stating that her life has darkened, Çağalı had filed complaints about 5 individuals, including Tanju Özcan and his driver, with the following allegations: "I am filing complaints against Mehmet Eren Akgüney, who ruined my life, still follows and threatens me; against Tanju Özcan, who sexually assaulted me multiple times under threat; against Özgür Nihat Yıldız, who asked for my phone to cover up evidence and wanted to buy me a new phone; and against Suat Çelikcan, Tanju Özcan's driver."
