Instagram, which had been blocked in Turkey due to censorship of posts about the assassinated Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, has been reopened. The first post after the reopening was made by Fahrettin Altun, the Presidential Communications Director, who said, "On the 10th day of his martyrdom, I remember martyr Ismail Haniyeh with mercy and gratitude." Social media users commented on Altun's post, saying, "If they dare, let them remove it", "Even if they block it again, it's fine, well done."

The social media platform Instagram was blocked in Turkey in the past weeks. The decision came right after the sharing of posts about Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, who was assassinated in Tehran, the capital of Iran.

"HANIYEH" POST AS SOON AS INSTAGRAM OPENS

After days of ongoing negotiations, Instagram was reopened for access, and Fahrettin Altun, the Presidential Communications Director, made a remarkable post. Altun commemorated Ismail Haniyeh in his first post as soon as Instagram opened.

In his post, Altun stated the following: On the 10th day of his martyrdom, I remember martyr Ismail Haniyeh with mercy and gratitude. Our struggle will continue under the leadership of our President Recep Tayyip Erdogan until Palestine is free and those who commit genocide against humanity are held accountable."
