Asian Markets Close Mostly Higher, Europe In Negative

China's Shanghai Exchange performs best in Asia with 1.62% gain, Germany's DAX 30 worst performer in Europe with 128 point loss.

Asian markets closed mostly higher on Thursday, while European stock exchanges have been in negative territory, as economies around the world struggle with high inflation and deteriorating business activity amid recession fears.
The Asia Dow, which includes blue-chip companies in the region, was down 4.6 points, or 0.14%, to 3,172 at 1005GMT.
Tokyo's Nikkei 225 stock exchange increased 21 points, or 0.08%, to 26,171.
The Hang Seng, the benchmark for blue-chip stocks trading on the Hong Kong stock exchange, rose 265 points, or 1.26%, to 21,273.
China's Shanghai Stock Exchange was the best performer of the day by soaring almost 53 points, or 1.62%, to finish at 3,320.
The Indian Sensex benchmark rose 443 points, or 0.86%, to end at 52,265.
The Singapore index, on the other hand, was almost flat with less than a 1-point decline, or 0.02%, to finish at 3,092.
Singapore's core inflation annually rose 3.6% in May, its highest level since December 2008, according to the Department of Statistics released earlier Thursday. Overall inflation in the country was up 5.6% in May on an annual basis.
In Europe, the STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European market in 17 countries, was down almost 2.7 points, or 0.66%, to 403.06 at 1010GMT.
The UK's FTSE declined 12 points, or 0.18%, to 7,077, while Germany's DAX 30 was the worst performer of the day until then as it shed 128 points, or 1%, to 13,011.
Germany's business activity this month fell to its lowest level in 23 months, according to the US-based financial services company S&P Global's report.
France's CAC 40 decreased 23 points, or 0.4%, to 5,893 and Italy's FTSE MIB fell 93 points, or 0.44%, to 21,695.
Spain's IBEX 35 was down 49 points, or 0.6%, to 8,095 at the time. -
