The claim that a second-grade girl in Kocaeli died from meningitis has caused concern among parents. Following the incident, many parents did not send their children to school.

A student in the 2nd grade, 8-year-old İrem Aslan, who studies at Bekir Sıtkı Özer Primary School located in Derince, Kocaeli, fell ill and was taken to the hospital. Despite all the interventions at the hospital, the little girl lost her life. İrem Aslan's funeral will be held today after the afternoon prayer at Sopalı Mosque, followed by her burial.
