33-year-old Shelby Elston went to the Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena with her fiancé Cain Webb and a friend to watch her favorite band Rüfüs Du Sol. However, the night, which was expected to start off fun, turned into a scene of violent assault.
According to reports, at the concert venue, Cain's drink accidentally splashed onto a man sitting in front of them. The couple immediately apologized, but the man became angry and started shouting. Shortly after, he mixed into the crowd and walked away.
While the incident seemed to be over, the same man returned half an hour later and threatened Cain with death. Trying to calm the situation, Shelby suddenly became the target of the attacker. The man punched the young woman repeatedly. As Shelby collapsed to the ground unconscious, her fiancé Cain tried to protect her.
Those moments were recorded by other attendees at the concert using a cellphone camera. The footage shows the attacker throwing punches repeatedly while those around him tried to intervene.
Shelby regained consciousness in a medical tent. The woman, with blood streaming from her face, said, "The man punched me in the face, I completely fainted. He continued to beat Cain as well. We came out of this incident with a great trauma, and the attacker escaped freely. This man must be caught."
The Pasadena police have launched an investigation into the incident and stated that they have reached some clues about the identity of the attacker, and that his capture is a matter of time.
After the incident, the band Rüfüs Du Sol also made a statement on social media:
"We work to ensure our fans can enjoy themselves safely. This violent incident at our concert deeply saddened us. Such behavior is unacceptable anywhere."
