Ata Demirer and Gülse Birsel did not attend the funeral of their former co-star Vural Çelik.

The actor Vural Çelik, who passed away at the age of 51, was laid to rest yesterday. During the funeral prayer held at Levent Barbaros Hayrettin Paşa Mosque at noon, condolences were accepted by the actor's mother, Cemile Çelik, and his sister, Kadriye Güzeloğlu.

Producer and director Birol Güven stated that he had a very close and special relationship with Vural Çelik, saying, "Vural was a person with a different and high energy. He had a childlike heart. He would laugh and cry like a child. He would suddenly sulk but then come back and make peace. The news circulating on social media about Vural being in financial trouble is not true. There is a sectoral contraction, but Vural did not have such a significant problem. The videos he filmed and published were for fun. We were going to start a new project together, but it didn't happen. May he rest in peace."

"I AM SAD AS IF I HAVE LOST A FAMILY MEMBER"

Actor Yavuz Seçkin shared that Çelik had a friendly personality, expressing his feelings: "I am sad as if I have lost a family member. We would message and joke with each other. He was a person with a beautiful heart, but on the other hand, he was also introverted and lonely. This is the general situation in our industry. You think you have many friends around you, but that is not the case. Vural experienced this too. May his place be paradise."

"I DON'T HAVE A BAD MEMORY OF HIM"

Actress Begüm Öner pointed out that Vural Çelik was one of the rare people who did not lose his joy, saying, "We worked together for many years. I don't have a bad memory of him. I thank him for the beautiful moments he gave us. May he rest in peace."

Actor Sarp Apak stated, "He would make us laugh and entertain us a lot on set. He had some health issues during the times we worked together, but he didn't take them too seriously. We came to fulfill our last duty, we are sad," he expressed. Actor Ferdi Akarnur mentioned that he had a long-standing friendship with Çelik, saying they hadn't seen each other much lately due to busyness and that he was very sad. Actor and presenter Şoray Uzun emphasized that Vural Çelik was a different and beautiful person, stating, "He was a person full of humor in every moment. Of course, he had troubles, but rather than talking about them, he would keep them to himself. This is somewhat the fate and nature of comedy actors. We laughed and had fun a lot. May he rest in peace." Çelik's funeral was held after the prayer and he was buried at Kilyos Cemetery.

THEY WERE CONTENT WITH SENDING A WREATH

On the other hand, it was noteworthy that Gülse Birsel and Ata Demirer, who acted together in 'Avrupa Yakası', did not attend Çelik's funeral. Birsel and Demirer were content with sending a wreath.

Ata Demirer shared on Instagram, "Beautiful times, beautiful years. A very early farewell. I wish patience to his family. May God have mercy on him. Rest in peace, my brother," while Gülse Birsel said, "We lost our Kubilay too early. We are very sad," bidding farewell to Vural Çelik.

Vural Çelik had criticized the screenwriter Gülse Birsel, with whom he parted ways bitterly from 'Avrupa Yakası'. In a broadcast he attended, the actor, who was uncomfortable mentioning Birsel's name, said, "I thank Sinan Çetin and Atilla Aslan from the brain team of the series. However, I do not thank one name from the brain team. That person is not male, but female. It is not hard to understand who it is."
