"MUSTAFA" MOVIE BLOCKED IN EUROPE AT THE LAST MINUTE
The film "Mustafa," which narrates the childhood of the founder of the Republic of Turkey, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, premiered on Friday, October 25. As the first project to depict Atatürk's life in animation, the film faced obstacles in European countries. The film was abruptly blocked just hours before its screening in European countries.
"SUPPORT TURNED NEGATIVE AS THE RELEASE DATE APPROACHED"
Kamuran Ayna, one of the producers of the film, stated in an interview with Cumhuriyet that the film was not released and that the Armenian lobby was behind the blockage. Ayna said: "Millions of our citizens live in Europe. Based on the fact that our children there have the right to know Atatürk, the founding leader of their country, we made efforts for screenings in Europe. Initially, we received very positive reactions and support, but as the release date approached, it almost turned negative."
"WE CANNOT SCREEN OUR FILM IN EUROPE"
After making preliminary agreements with distributors, we received calls from different countries every day. Suddenly, all distributors began to express the discomforts conveyed to them by the cinema halls. As a result, we currently cannot screen our film in Europe."
