The teams of Dicle Electricity Distribution Corporation (DEDAŞ), who were conducting inspections for illegal electricity connections in Mardin, were attacked while removing illegal meters. As the angry crowd approached the teams, the Gendarmerie fired shots into the air and used water cannons to disperse the crowd.
Dicle Electricity Distribution Inc. (DEDAŞ) teams conducted a raid to the rural Sürgücü neighborhood, affiliated with Savur district of Mardin, with military armored vehicles in the morning hours without disrupting the current HTML.
The teams, accompanied by a large number of soldiers, tried to move the electricity meters outside the houses. The residents of the neighborhood opposed the teams and blocked the road to prevent the entrance of the gendarmerie and DEDAŞ.
As a result, there was a dispute between the residents of the neighborhood and the gendarmerie for a while. The gendarmerie later intervened with pepper gas and high-pressure water from TOMAs against the attacking residents.
During the attack, many people were affected by the gas, and tension arose in the neighborhood as a response from the residents.
