After consecutive warnings from the Meteorology and AKOM, Istanbul is entering the new year with snow, while experts continue to make statements. Between 1:00 PM and 4:45 PM, it is expected that precipitation masses coming from the Black Sea will cause sudden and heavy snowfall, particularly in the districts of Beykoz, Sarıyer, Şile, Ümraniye, Çekmeköy, Üsküdar, Beşiktaş, Ataşehir, Sancaktepe, Sultanbeyli, Eyüpsultan, Şişli, and Kağıthane.
After the consecutive warnings from the General Directorate of Meteorology and AKOM, snowfall began to show its effects again in Istanbul on the first day of the new year. As the air temperature dropped across the city, a white cover formed in the high areas, while experts pointed out that precipitation would intensify in some areas, especially during the noon and afternoon hours.

According to expert evaluations, it is expected that the precipitation masses coming from the Black Sea will be effective in the northern and eastern parts of Istanbul between 1:00 PM and 4:45 PM. Authorities emphasized that the expected snow transitions, although short-lived, could be effective and called on drivers to be cautious. Due to sudden precipitation, it was requested to be careful against the risks of reduced visibility, slippery roads, and disruptions in transportation.
SNOW HIT HARD IN ISTANBUL
After the warnings from experts, snowfall began to show its effects in Istanbul. The precipitation that started in the afternoon quickly increased its intensity, and the ground rapidly turned white.
The high areas of Arnavutköy and the neighborhood streets were covered in snow. With the snowfall, some citizens went outside to take photos. It is expected that the snowfall in the district will continue intermittently throughout the day.

NEW WARNING FROM AKOM FOR ISTANBUL TOMORROW
The Disaster Coordination Center (AKOM) of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB) announced that there will be icing and frost until tomorrow morning due to the snowfall that will increase its effect from the afternoon. According to the statement made by AKOM, it is predicted that the snowfall will be intermittently strong in the European side around the Bosphorus and generally in the Anatolian side from the afternoon, and the air temperature is expected to range between -1 and 3 degrees. It is anticipated that the snowfall will lose its effect after 6:00 PM, but icing and frost events may continue to be effective until tomorrow morning.
In Istanbul, it is expected that the temperature will be partly cloudy with a minimum of 1 and a maximum of 8 degrees tomorrow. It is reported that there will be no precipitation and the air temperature will range between 7-16 degrees over the weekend, with a southwesterly storm expected, and partly cloudy weather on Monday. Rain is expected on Tuesday, and heavy showers on Wednesday.
