WHY IS GALİP ÖZTÜRK WANTED?
Galip Öztürk, the founder of Metro Turizm, was sentenced to life imprisonment as the instigator of the Kuvvet Köseoğlu murder committed in 1996 in Beyoğlu, Istanbul. After the Supreme Court upheld the decision, Öztürk, who was supposed to surrender for the execution of his sentence, fled abroad and became a fugitive. Upon Turkey's request, Interpol issued a red notice for Öztürk.
The incident began with the murder of Kuvvet Köseoğlu in Beyoğlu in 1996. During the trial process, the claim that Öztürk was the instigator of the murder was accepted. When his sentence was finalized in 2018, Öztürk left Turkey instead of entering prison.
After his escape, Öztürk was found to be in Batumi, Georgia, where it is stated that he has investments in shopping malls and hotels.
