The Ministry of Interior issued a warning for heavy rainfall and snowfall for many provinces based on meteorological data. Rain and snow will be effective in the East and Southeast, while local heavy rainfall is expected in the Mediterranean. The ministry warned citizens to be cautious against the risks of flooding, icing, blizzards, and avalanches.
The Ministry of Interior warned citizens due to heavy rain and snowfall expected to be effective in many provinces today and tomorrow. In a statement based on data from the General Directorate of Meteorology, it was reported that strong rainfall is expected for a large number of provinces.
HEAVY RAIN IN THE EAST AND SOUTHEAST
According to the ministry's statement, heavy rain and occasional thunderstorms are expected in the regions of Diyarbakır, Batman, Siirt, Şırnak, and Mardin, as well as in the eastern part of Şanlıurfa. In the regions of Hakkari, Bitlis, and Muş, as well as in the northern and southern parts of Van, rain, mixed rain and snow are expected in higher elevations.
SNOW WILL BE EFFECTIVE IN EAST ANATOLIA
While strong rain and mixed rain and snow are expected in the regions of Elazığ and in the south of Bingöl and Tunceli, heavy mixed rain and snowfall are forecasted in the northern parts of Bingöl and Tunceli, as well as in Erzincan, Bayburt, Erzurum, Kars, and Ardahan. In higher elevations, occasional heavy snowfall is expected.
LOCAL STRONG RAIN IN THE MEDITERRANEAN
In the regions of Osmaniye, the coastal areas of Hatay, and the eastern part of Adana, locally strong downpours and thunderstorms are expected.
WARNING TO CITIZENS
The Ministry of Interior requested that citizens be cautious against negative events such as floods, water accumulation, lightning, strong winds, and disruptions in transportation. It was also emphasized that precautions should be taken against blizzards, icing, freezing, and avalanche risks in areas where snowfall is expected.
